I miss Liane Hansen :(
I don't know what it is about her replacement, but my left eye twitches when I listen to the Puzzlemaster... I think it's just that her voice comes off as too dramatic.

Re: a disturbance in the force: weekend edition
Sun, November 26, 2006 - 10:06 AMOh my god--I was JUST going to write the same thing!!! Andrea Seabrook is soooo driving me crazy. A few months back, when she filled in for Liane, she was *competing against* the puzzle contestant, rather than only answering once it was clear the person couldn't come up with an answer! It was so irritating, but apparently she got a bunch of mail about it, because when she started this long-term assignment, she made reference to it, and said she would try to behave during the puzzle. Hahahahahahaha! When I was listening to her the first time, I was thinking, "Hasn't she ever heard the puzzle before? Doesn't she understand what she's supposed to do?" They had Don Gonyea fill in during the summer, and I really enjoyed listening to him, but I guess that wouldn't really work out long term, since he has to cover the White House. Didn't Liane say she was going to be gone for something like 6 months?

Mon, November 27, 2006 - 4:50 AMUgh. I agree. Her giggling comment to Will Shortz about his life being "weird" after he mentioned being in a table tennis competition made me shake my head. -
